Accessibility Auditing

We have completed accessibility auditing projects across Ontario and beyond. We work with the client to ensure comprehension, scope, and impact for each recommendation. Please read below to view our featured projects in accessibility auditing. 

Brock University

Accessibility Audits of 33 facilities reviewing accessibility for students, staff, and the general public (including offices, lecture halls, theaters, recreational areas, outdoor spaces, play spaces, adn parking facilities) using THG’s standardized process. Project was completed in 120 days. Audits included mobility, sensory, and cognitive accessibility needs. Addressing way finding, signage, paths of travel, installation of existing accessibility components, communication technologies, fires safety and evacuation plans.

  • Phase two of this project involved the creation of Design Standards for the University. THG worked in partnership with Designable Environments Inc. for this component. 
 
 

City of Kitchener

Client participates in a Joint Accessibility Advisory Committee. Accessibility audits of 137 facilities and exterior areas (including municipal offices, community centres, public pools, arenas, parking facilities, and parks). 

 

Project was completed in 180 days. Accessibility audits of 137 facilities and exterior areas. 

 

Halton District School Board

Accessibility Audits of 63 schools including parking and exterior areas, all interior areas including staff areas (office, staff room), classrooms, gymnasiums, auditoriums, washrooms, change rooms, and cafeterias. 

 

Project was completed in 180 days. On-site audits of all facilities were completed in 40 days.

City of St. Catharines

Provide on-going accessibility consulting support to the Commission, including policy review, training material review, policy development and compliance strategy development. 

 
 
  • Conducted policy analysis of the client’s Accessible Customer Service Policy and made recommendations to revise and clarify the policy, ensuring compliance with O.Reg. 429/07 and the Ontario Human Rights Code. 
  • Prepared for final approval.
  • Conducted training analysis of clients’ Accessibility Customer Service Training Workshop ensuring full compliance with O.Reg. 429/07
  • Analyzed Draft Accessibility Standards of the AODA; provided an analysis of Standard Drafts including: impact and effect on the client, the corporation’s responsibilities to meet minimum legal requirements and action required to achieve compliance. 
  • Prepared and submitted comments to the Accessibility Directorate of Ontario outlining the client’s position on the Accessibility Standard Drafts.
